Round-Up Program
The Board of Directors and staff of Coos-Curry Electric Cooperative, Inc. would like to thank members who have contributed to the "Round-Up Program" in the past. Contributions through this program have helped low-income members living in our communities pay their electric bills.
"Round-Up" works like this. Signing up to participate in the program means each month, your electric bill is automatically rounded up to the next dollar amount. For example, if your monthly electric bill was $74.32, it would be rounded up to $75.00 and the additional $.68 put into a special fund to be used to help qualifying individuals pay their electric bill. The money is collected locally and used locally ? to help other CCEC members with families living in our communities. Start your contributions to Round Up early in the year so funds are available to help other members when they need it the most, typically during the winter months.
Energy Conservation
The basic unit of measure of electric power is the watt. Appliances and electrical devices are rated to use a specific number of watts. Usually the wattage is stamped somewhere on the item. Usage is measured in kilowatts, with a kilowatt being 1,000 watts of electricity. Your utility bills are based on the number of kilowatts you use per hour, which is known as kilowatt-hours (kwh). If you use 1,000 watts of electricity in one hour, you have used a kwh.
Line Extension Policy
Electric Service Rules and Line Extension Policy outlines the requirements for obtaining electric service from Coos-Curry Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CCEC). An Electric Service Handbook is made available to help assist members with the installation of a new electrical service. The handbook is not intended to be used as a design manual but rather as a guideline to help make the installation of your new service easier.
Automatic Payment Option
The Automated Bank Payment option authorizes Coos-Curry Electric Cooperative, Inc. to deduct your monthly electric bill payment automatically from your bank account. That means no check to write, no payment to mail, no more chance of forgetting to pay and no extra charge for the service.
Electric Retail Rates
Being part of an electric cooperative means sharing equally in the costs and benefits of operating the business ? from obtaining power at the wholesale level for distribution to cooperative members to building and maintaining the utility's infrastructure.
The rate you pay for power and the other services the utility provides is determined by the actual cost to provide that service and does not include any profit. Rate schedules are developed and approved by the Board of Directors for specific rate classes, such as residential, irrigation, commercial and industrial.
